I graduated from the College of Idaho with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English as a Second Language in 1993. I taught 1st grade in the Vallivue School District for seven years before attending law school. In 2004, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Idaho College of Law with a Juris Doctorate. While in law school, I was an editor on the Idaho Law Review and mentored incoming law students.
Upon graduation from law school, I served as a law clerk for then-Twin Falls County District Judge G. Richard Bevan (now Idaho Supreme Court Justice). In 2006, I went into private practice where I have focused primarily on family law matters. I have also represented clients in general civil litigation, criminal defense, and estate planning.
I have served for many years in leadership positions on the Family Law Section of the Idaho State Bar, and am a past section chair. I am currently a member of the Theron Ward American Inns of Court and the Idaho Women Lawyers.
My experience in family law has included representing clients in divorce cases with complex community and separate property issues, including farm and business valuations; representing parents in high-conflict custody situations and litigating child custody and child support issues; representing clients in guardianship proceedings; and assisting clients with adoptions and other general family law matters.
In addition, I continue to represent clients in criminal defense matters and provide services for general civil matters such as estate planning and collections.
